IMG_3020.jpgIMG_3024.jpg. Ijust got back from Montana and I had the privilege to point out this bull to this young lady of 74, a one shot kill at a little over 420 yards! 7x6 her first bull and if you remember her husband took his first bull ar 81 1/2 last year.

Here are a couple of pics of my 2017 Nevada bull. I took him with a 325 yd shot from my 7mm up a steep, nasty rock slide. Thankfully the downfall caught him after a 50yd tumble that only chipped one point. He wasn't the biggest elk that we came across in 3.5 days out there, but he is still my best elk to date!

Just got back from my 4th season E/S hunt here in Colorado. First time hunting the unit and it was pretty grim. The unit is on the Utah border and depends on migration from the La Sals as there are almost no resident elk. No snow....no elk. Talked to 10 or 12 hunters from as far away as New Hampshire & Florida and no one heard any shooting or saw any elk.

Always next year.
