The work on the water hole is starting to pay off. I have friends with rifle tags for elk and whitetails in the hills. I have my archery tag that I hope to put on a mule deer, unless the split g2 buck above shows up, would be hard to pass on him. Need to start getting out and scouting more for antelope along with the muley rifle tag I drew for a unit about 3 hours away. The best time of the year is right around the corner now.

Very nice. Are you going to paddlefish again?

We drew tags, but will wait until later in the season when people thin out.

I drew the May paddlefish tag and struck out. I'm hoping next year to make it back out to Yankton or possibly the Yellowstone river in Montana. Good luck on you tag, if you need any tips let me know.

I drew that May tag the first year, and failed to tag a fish. :(

Snagged a pile of them below the dam at Yankton, none as big as yours though. Was over in Okaboji a couple weekends ago and got a new 12' Ugly Stick. Excited to use it.

Had two archery tags, filled the first not the second. Tough to hit. I have 3 pp points for archery, will probably hunt them again next summer.

If you really enjoy Paddlefish you should try Truman Lake in Missouri a week or two after Easter. Its a good time. I take my kids down every year for spring break. Eyes light up when they pull a 60-70 fish in the boat.
