You don't apply for Rocky and Cali bighorns too? I know odds are slim but it's not much extra for residents. To all the non-residents: don't even bother applying for Desert bighorns in 268 that tag is mine!

Why are the seasons for antelope so early? I applied for some southern units as well as some in the north. I'm thinking I may have messed up as it's going to be Hot in late August.

Is that why the odds are so much higher in the southern units? At least I can get a sun tan while I'm hunting. lol

You're right about it being hot. My last antelope tag in 2014 was in the Ruby Valley of northern NV and the daytime temps were 80-90 degrees. In 2001 in had a tag in one of the southern most areas and it was over 100 degrees!

You just have to be prepared to get the meat onto ice as soon as possible after the animal hits the ground.

Last year on my muzzle loader deer hunt in Utah the temperatures were in the 80's and I swear that my buck was jerky by the time I got him back to the truck.

No. Im not sure I could hunt or do a hunt justice this year so Im not willing to burn points. Maybe Idaho.

I did buy a bunch of points this year. Put in for my go to archery deer tag and a bear tag. I'm thinking my time may be limited once bear season hits as I've landed a sub guide job and plan on catching another crap ton of bears this year. Lions too!
