great Blacktail, way cool they have a buck season so early in the year. everything here in oregon is in the fall months.

Not at all, it's no different than a warm antelope hunt really, except we have more shade and cool canyons available than most 'lope hunts offer. I do like to get the hind quarters off the bone quickly though. Besides that, the meat builds a protective crust very quickly in the shade/breeze to help preserve the interior muscle. Keeping a cape in those conditions is the more tricky part, at least without ice on hand.
