First I would like to offically thank DRUSS and Cntryep for providing information that helped us with our antelope hunt in our buck unit. This information certainly helped as we sorted through all the available land to hunt.
This hunt was a special hunt for me as this was my wife's first time hunting big game so I wanted this to go well and it was my first antelope hunt. I didn't want this to be a grueling and overly difficult hunt as some of my other western hunts have been for her as I secretly am hoping she will want to go again.
Finally after driving 13 hours we made it to Wyoming.

Once we reached the cabin we would stay at we went out to start exploring. My wife decided this was a good end to our first day.
Initially we spent the first day and a half driving around and learning the area, including what our portion of the unit held for bucks. My wife was very nervous about this hunt and was repeatedly asking for me to let her shoot one of the numerous bucks we saw. Finally, I found a buck that I felt was in a stockable location for her. After using what little terrain was available while covering the first 500 yds and crawling the last 200 yds while barely being covered by the available sage we found ourselves with only a telephone pole between us and the buck at 250 yds. Unfortunately, he new something was up and her only shot was head on. So I instructed her to keep the scope on him but wait until he turned broadside. As luck would have it when he finally moved he turned and walked straight-away. After about 20 steps he stopped and gave a nice broad-side shot. After my wife got settled she pulled the trigger and buck number one fell to the ground. I'm not sure who was more excited her or I.
My wife was extremly excited and very happy to have shot her first big game animal ever. I was very happy for her and very happy that she made a very nice shot at about 270 yds with a clean kill.
Our 2nd full day found us glassing more antelope with several failed attempts on getting close to a buck. I think the 40-50 mph wind was a big hurdle.
