Head out on the road on the 27th..Got a general Elk Tag and a new spot to try to find elk.

Every year I try to bring my kids something uniquely Wyoming. After going since 2005, I'm open to new ideas...

They have been in the summer. We need to get them a little more excited about the backcountry closer to home.

That's pretty awesome 2rocky. I like to see Wyoming shirts anywhere I go. Well hopefully you bring back a Wyoming trophy. I couldn't think of anything to suggest for a souvenir. I am not sure where you were going, but there is a cool rock shop outside of Ranchester. Places like that have fossils like Devil's Toenails and stuff and casts of dinosaur teeth and stuff that are pretty cool. There are places like that all over, but especially on both sides of the Big Horns. They find a lot of dinosaurs and stuff there.

If they were of legal drinking age I could name a few items!

I usually pick up a Native American made jewelry piece for my wife, they are usually cheap (cheaply made sometimes) and it helps support a local group. If your close to the Shoshone tribe pick up some beading work, very few know how to do it any more but if you can find some it is unique for sure.

I picked up a Navajo necklace at a rest area a couple weeks ago outside of Kaycee, no they are not uniquely WY but you sure cannot buy Navajo here in TN...Cherokee yes.

Close to Jackson they have a lot of antler jewerly, key chains, etc. If your close to Yellowstone or Tetons you can get them something from there. I started buying my daughter Yellowstone children books this year.

In Laramie you have the University, there is a store there that has everything WY. Mostly collegiate related but Im sure you will find something there.
