This wasn't the buck I had been hoping to get this year but I think he is a keeper. The buck I wanted to hunt did what big bucks do and just vanished when the rut began. I got this guy on November 12 a brisk 10 degree morning. Watched him bed in a big CRP field with a couple of doe just after sunrise. Thanks to the 15-20mph winds I was able to get through the dry grass and into bow range to close the deal. Even with the wind it took almost 3 hours of sneaking and glassing to get into position but it was worth the effort.
