I finally hit the jackpot this year, after applying for a California Elk tag since I was a teenager. I drew the Northeastern bull tag and the X2 Mule Deer tag in the same hunting season. I am new here to the Eastmans forum but not to their publications or videos. I would really like to obtain some information especially on the Elk hunt, from any other hunters who have hunted either of these areas. I'm not asking for any honey holes, I would just like to know where would be the best place to start looking for Elk. This is the largest Elk unit in California so I would greatly appreciate any help on locating Elk.

I dont know much about the deer of elk in that area but congrats on the tag and welcome to the forum! What part of the state are you from?
