Any opinions, perspective appreciated
Basically looking to get my first antelope and out of state big game animal. looking to simply bring meat home for the year. size does not matter and will most likely buy a doe tag or two as well.
Thank you guys and gals.

I would reccommend looking at the regs and see what areas you can draw with 1 point in the regular draw or the special draw. I would then look at what units have the chance of 2 doe tags, since your after meat for the freezer and the does can provide some practice. After that see what units fit both those criteria. After that start researching what unit you might want to choice, call biologist to see what to expect for game quality, look up old post on the forum and use google earth or maping tool to scout areas out from home. After that I would recommend getting a gps with a chip that tells you private/public property lines. Since most units with one point will be limited access. Hope this info helps.

^^^this.....but I'd just assume hunt a leftover or 2nd choice unit as hunt a 1 point unit. At least then you could build up a few points and draw a really decent antelope unit.

Are you opposed to applying in the special draw and/or paying a trespass fee?

I did the trespass fee route and it went really well. Saving the points was priority for me because I have plans to come back for a good DIY public land hunt. If you would like more tips in regards to the trespass fee hunting let me know and I will write up some stuff for you. Good Luck
