It can be a problem vetting outfitters and their guides and it does take time and effort on our part. I booked a outfitter for a Wyoming pronghorn hunt this coming fall, and while the draw results are not out I am 99% sure that I'll draw with 11 points. Could I do this hunt on my own, the...
I have found that on a guided hunt your experience is what you put into it.
I have been to Africa twice and in Africa you are required to have a Professional Hunter with you at all times that you are in the field. I have seen some hunters who go and pretty much just turn it into a shoot...
I agree with Tim, get a guide, while they do cost money the experience is well worth it. They will know the area and animals where you will be going into the area blind even if you do get some time to get out and scout.
A guide will increase your odds of getting a bull ten fold if not more...
I'm about in the same boat that you are only with other ailments, it sucks to get old.
I decided to cash in 11 points this year with a friend who backed out just a week ago so I'll be going it by myself. However I am going with a outfitter outside of Chyeyenne just to make it easier on...
Just got the ah shucks email with a invitation to put in for the secondary draw, and of course pay the application fee.
I'll just wait for the leftover list.
Still batting zero, but then I didn't expect to draw my tag 3 years in a row. The last time that I checked the odds they were 50/50 with zero points.
My fingers are crossed for my Wyoming pronghorn tag since I have more than enough points, but you never know.
On a African hunting forum that I am on packing clothing to cushion the rifles and optics was fairly common. That was until some countries that hunters were flying into decided to put a halt to it. Some still do it and get away with it while others end up being singled out for extra...
Emails are flowing.
I drew a blank, looks like they don't want my money.
However I can fall back on my lifetime deer tag. 38 deer tags since moving to Colorado. That $500 was a pretty good investment.
Colorado made a big push years ago for manufactures and tech production. Since that time the liberals have been moving in. That along with second and third homes for retirees with most of them being from California.
The political pundits call us a purple state but we are as blue as blue can...
That looks like a smallish bear, perhaps one that mom ran off.
I also think that the man did the prudent thing, but he was lucky that the snowmobile started as fast as it did, but then I would imagine that it was all warmed up and that he was investigating a bear report or something along...
Mr. Vermonster, I sent you a PM
Yes, there is a extended archery season in Utah if you have a unfilled archery tag. It runs along the Wasatch Front and in a couple of other areas. Here is the information from last year for the extended hunts.
