    Pistol case - harbor freight

I don't plan on it as I carry my 2 target pistols to matches in an old aluminum camera case that I used for storing my old 35mm camera & lenses in when I was out in my boat It's waterproof and almost indistructable. The only disadvantage is it is heavy!

Where would you move to if you had your choice of any western State to live in?

You are spot on in you post. We are planning on giving our son our place when we are gone and he will lose the senior citizen tax break as one of the conditions is he has to have owned it 10 years before the tax break kicks in. My old house in the city in California which we bought new in 1970...

If you don't mind, what did you pay for it? What brand is it? I looked on HF website and couldn't find that exact case.

I finally had to give up shooting the Quigley and the 1000 yard matches because my eyes just couldn't handle the sights.

I shot a Sharps in 45-70 with black powder in 1000 yard matches. In my experience, recoil is totally related to bullet weight, the heavier the bullet, then heavier the recoil.

Where would you move to if you had your choice of any western State to live in?

This post was started almost 3 years ago. I read all the posts again and they were really interesting and the ones I posted are still true today. BUT the big change here in sw Colorado is the price of property. I bought my property ( 6.3 acres) in 1994 for $50,000 including 5 shares of...

    Knives

I love old knives. They are mostly high carbon steel and take and hold an edge really well. They do rust tho. I have a couple too as my uncle was a butcher too.

    Spring Fishing

Getting my boat ready for the season this year. I bought a new side scanning fish finder and a new tachometer this winter and need to start installing them. The launch ramp at our local lake (McPhee Res, 2nd largest in Colo) opens tomorrow. I am also going to install 2 downriggers. The only...

    Burger, breakfast sausage & brats.

I used to use pork shoulder roast for fat and added meat. A buddy in Alaska told me about the bacon ends & pieces. We have a local smaller grocery store and the butcher ordered my a case of ends & pieces. 30# in 2# frozen packages. I paid $90.00 or $3.00/pound. You are right about the different...

    Knives

I like at least 2 or 3 different blades for butchering. I have a big chefs knife that I use for cutting steaks and I use a smaller filet style to debone. The picture with this post has the knife I like for steaking and cutting up large chunks of meat. The picture was where I was cutting up...
