    6.5-300 Weatherby

I have an opportunity to get a 6.5-300 Weatherby but am concerned about the future existence of the round. What are everyone's thoughts on this round? Will Weatherby maintain this round? Will other ammo manufacturers be able to pick this up eventually?

I've been on the fence awhile regarding gaiters. Should I get a pair or not? Tell me why I should buy some or why I should save my money.

    Shelter/tent for mid October

My brother and I will be in SE idaho in mid October and were planning on using our three season tents. The closer we get, the more we are questioning this decision. We will be set with cots and good sleeping bags. Are we crazy? Should we have some sort of wall/outfitter tent with a stove...

    Tex Creek area

So here's the deal. This will be my first fall chasing elk. We applied for a controlled hunt and didn't draw. So we decided, we were still going to hunt some where and decided to get a Tex Creek general tag (10/15 - 10/21). I have spent time previously in Idaho in and around Ketchum...

    Non-resident elk

As a non-resident, is it possible to consistently hunt elk in Idaho? I'm trying to figure out the tag system and I am getting a little confused. I'm seeing references to general tags and limited tags and OTC but can't decipher if they exist to non-residents. Couple of questions to start...

    Vortex and Cabela's new line

Just on Cabela's website and see that Vortex is now supplying Cabela's branded optics. In past it was unknown who made Cabela's branded optics, but these have both logos. They look a little like the Viper series.

    Wall Tent Rentals

Looking into renting a wall tent for this fall and maybe in the future purchasing one. Has anyone rented from here before - http://www.outdoorsgeek.com/ For $284 you can get a 12'x14' Davis tent including frame (no floor) and stove. On the surface, looks like a good idea to try it out first...

    Idaho left over tags

I was searching through the Idaho F&G website looking for information on left over deer tags and couldn't find squat. Since getting skunked on the Wyoming draw, I am looking for other options. Are there any available? Is there a list posted some where? Thanks for the help!

    Where to start?

OK here's the deal. I am trying to decide what state to start with to go on my first elk hunt. I hear and read great things about each state and draw backs of each state and now I don't know where to focus my efforts. Also struggling with guided or not and bow or gun. The only thing I am sure...

    Wyoming Region Y success

    Hornady Superformance

I'd like to know what others have experienced with these. I used the 7MM 139gr SST 2 years ago and they were super accurate (1.5" group at 300 yards). I eneded up taking a mule deer at 200 yards (dropped in his tracks, minimal damage) and an antelope at 460yards. The antelope I hit a little...
