Crying wolf. Well worth the watch

This is about an hour long but is worth watching. I recently posted a pic on facebook of a pack of wolves surrounding a moose that appeared to be standing in its own blood. One person commented that he pity's the wolves and that we should leave them alone. I hope this video will shed a little...

My sons first buck. Great day!

Up at 445am. Ran to town for munchies and fuel, hiking by 610. After a long hard day of pushing through the snow, buck down at 420pm. We hiked our butts off but were well rewarded when Ethyn made a great 284 yrd shot on this deer. His left eye was gouged out and left ear badly torn on the back...

    Elk hunting 2011

Had a great year hunting elk. Archery season was a blast and got close to some great bulls. Finally took this little guy. My son Ethyn and I went on a tough 2+ mile hike to get on some cows. If ethyn wouldnt have been so excited I wouldn't have let him drop the hammer on this cow. I didnt...

    Archery bull down.

We spent quite a few days in the woods chasing bulls around. The first two weeks were tough due to really dry conditions. Some cooler weather and a couple good rain storms made for an elk super sex fest and perfect stalking conditions. One day alone a good friend and I had 6 or 7 really close...

2 weeks left. Torture time for me!!

Well, only two more weeks till the 2011 archery elk season opens up. I've been through most of my DVD's. Now its daily torture watching rutting bulls on youtube along with knowing I have friends out antelope hunting. Am I the only guy who feels the need to subject himself to painful torture just...

Meet Sibley; my antler goddess :)

This is a follow-up to my previous thread regarding my new antler hunting buddy. Well, out of Sage, Aspen or Sibley I named her Sibley. She is 7 weeks here and seems to be a quick learner. After only a week she is sitting and will fetch the antlerball most times. I will continue to post pics of...

Yeah! bugling bulls for me this year. Anyone else?

Well, I wont be bow hunting muleys this year. Drew a archery elk tag for the Bighorns (which just happen to be at my back door). 38 type 9. With all the moisture we have been getting, there are gonna be some stud bulls again this year. Two years ago I spent a fair bit of my season after a...

    My new antler hunting buddy!

I've been hunting antlers for quite a few years and have always admired the guys/gals who have trained their dogs to hunt antlers. After lots of research and time looking for a good quality pup, here is the new addition to our family. Cant wait to start training her.

G&F will tell you there aren't any wolves in the Bighorn mtns. I beg to differ!

This is probably the 9th or 10th wolf track I've seen in the past two years along the eastern face of the Bighorns. This one was really fresh. I'm guessing I probably spooked him. Good sized track too. Cut several more the same day. Guessing it was the same wolf. older tracks. G&F says tracks...

Gross scores 156 6/8 with 4 7/8 in deductions which nets him at 151 7/8. I would guess he was probably shot and never found but who knows? At any...

Making 1000yrd shot is not what I call hunting. Your thoughts

So..After watching an episode of Best of the West and listening to all those guys promote their "Super scopes" is about to put me into a fit of rage. Shoot'n critters 1000+ yrds away is not what hunting is about is my opinion. They preach of adjusting their scopes for windage that they...

    New Eberlestock X2..Any reviews?

I'm getting ready to purchace a new pack. I'm really leaning towards the Eberlestock X2 with the butt bucket for packing my bow. Most of my archery trips are day trips and not uncommon for me to go 5-7 miles one way after a good bull or muley. How do any of you rate this pack, pros and cons...

Show ur trophy bulls, and a litle info.

This is my best archery bull to date. Taken in the Big Horn mountains. I snuck up on him while he was thrashing in his wallow. Managed to get by a good 5x5 and 20+ cows. Once I was able to cool my nerves, I made a great 30 yard shot. bull ran right at me, spun left 5 yards away and I watched him...
