It's the wifes Bday on saturday and she's wanting BBQ. Do you Reno guys have any recommendations for some good BBQ?

A Texas hunter was attacked by dick cheney.

Being from southern NV I was surprised to see just how much runoff there is this year in the Reno area. On the eastern side of Fallon where the Newlands Irrigation Project is has water covering the entire valley on each side of hiway 95 as far as the eye can see. I have not seen water like that...

After the NV draw on friday finding out that between myself, my son and my brother didn't draw anything I told since we weren't going hunting this year maybe I would stop working out and get fat for a year. Birds and small game don't count. After thinking about it for a couple of days I decided...

I'm surprised you Reno guys didn't have a drawing get together at one of the local watering holes today like last year.

Cooked up some elk shanks from my last cow elk. They came out absoutely delicious and they took a lot less time to cook than last years antelope shanks. Seasoned and floured them before browning in a dutch oven then cooked in a crockpot with mushrooms, onions, carrots, celery and a few spices...

When when the sun came out they simply melted into the highest patches of trees. The lower areas...

Long winded write-up, hope you don't mind. Finally got it done. We had 4 full days of hunting and the weather was terrible. On our way in on Monday it was raining on top of the snow that was already there turning evrything into a slushy muddy mess. It took four wheel drive just to get our...

Headed out in the morning for my late season cow elk hunt in area 231. Had the same tag 2 years ago and it was bitter cold, hopefully the weather forcast is correct in that it doesn't show any below 0 temps for the coming week only low 20's. We did see a couple of monster bulls before I got my...

Hope everyone had a great New Year. My wife and I spent it watching my BIL and his band play at the Stock Exchange in Bisbee Arizona in the heart of desert muledeer country. That desert is some amazing country. Saw my second ever desert muledeer ever but I was not fast enough to get a pic. The...

Any amateur ornithologists out there? We put birdseed out for the birds recently and finally saw some birds we have never seen in our area. First there was only one and now there are four. We live in southern Nevada so I'm thinking maybe they only winter here. Any ideas?

I need some advice from you guys that have a lot more experience than me with smoking, I'm just a beginner. I've got half a breast from a home grown turkey that weighs about 10lbs. The whole bird weighed 45-50lbs dressed out. I want to smoke the breast and I'm wondering if I should remove the...

My Dallas Cowboys are having an amazing season. Hope it keeps going.
