While it may be legal in some states as of right now in most western states it is not legal to use a drone at anytime during the hunting seasons. It would be nice if it was legal and would be a great aid in retrieving animals, but sooner or later some will start to use it at times outside of...

You will need a tag for each animal and not just one. At least that is the way that it used to be, I haven't hunted Idaho in over 30 years.

Who knew Nancy Pelosi was into taxidermy??????? Or is that a scalp?

Hunting will be mostly public land on USFS managed lands. I doubt that there are any areas that you would call leased areas. Wolf hunting can be very hit or missed. A friend has some property where he parks a a trailer on during the summer and hunting season in central Idaho and while he...

Don't be surprised like I was when I posted the wrong dates for Colorado's second elk season. I don't pay that much attention to it since I try to hunt during the muzzle loader hunts but they have changed and if you are like I was when I was working I you need to put in for vacation so that...

That is true, you need a small game license but that allows you to shoot grouse and rabbits while you are hunting.

That would be the Hunt Planner, the number will be in the Guide Book when it comes out.

If you purchase a OTC tag then you can hunt in any unit that is OTC. The Colorado Guide Book will be out shortly and you can look at it to see what units are ope to you. As for a unit, what I would do is to go to the CP&W web site and do some research on their hunt planner. It gives some...

Put in for a bunch of tags and hope that I draw a couple. I should be able to draw a Wyoming antelope tag but I should have drawn it the last 3 years. Colorado muzzle loader deer, now first or second choice is the question. Utah will just laugh at me to think that I might draw a tag.

When I was up in British Colombia on my grizzly hunt I shot a black bear and as will usually happen that bear made it to the trees. My guide asked me how I felt about the shot and I said that it felt good and that I saw the bear hunch up before he took off. While we were sitting there he asked...

I remember when I first started to hunt the Utah Book Cliffs years ago before it was a draw hunt. In one canyon we came upon a tent camp that must of had a couple hundred beer can rattles hanging around the tent on strings. There was no way that a bear or much else larger than a insect could...

I have a friend who tried a electric wire fence around his trailer where there are quite a few bears in western Colorado. He went into his trailer one weekend and found the fence torn to pieces with bear tracks around the remains. All he could figure was that a bear got zapped and then got...

Glad to see you Mr. Vermonster, I was wondering just where you were at the other day..

I'd go to Canada for the moose and Mexico for desert bighorn.....$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

What a lot of folks don't realize is that back then it was one shot one kill for food for the table and ammo was not wasted. I remember being at one of my aunts and uncles home way back in the late 50's and my aunt was lighting matchsticks with a old Stevens 22 rifle shooting 22 shorts. When...
