    Big O Tires

Went to run an errand this am and my truck had a flat left rear tire. Aired it up and went to Big O Tires in town. They found a screw in it. Fixed it an when I started to pay, the manage said "No Charge". I asked why...said he saw my Disabled Vet license plate, so the fix was free. THANK YOU BIG...

    2 pt record

Here are a couple of pictures of the 2 x2 mount I have. I shot this buck in 1969 in California's High Sierra not to far from Mammoth Mountain. He was with 2 other bucks as big as him. They ran into a thicket of brush and I shot the first one to come out. I never knew he was a 2x2 until I...

    Well....I finally did it!

I have been buying points since Wy started selling them for NRs. I have 12 for deer and spent them all on a special deer tag for my favorite unit. Probably will be the last time for me to hunt deer in it as I'm 77 now and don't think I'll be able to accumulate enough to hunt it again. I also...

    OHV requirements for carrying rifles/bows

I was looking in the Wyoming regs on OHVs for their rules concerning cased/secured guns or bows like Colorado has. I don't remember that I had to have my rifle in a zippered or hard case and completely unloaded the last time I hunted in Wyoming. Nothing in the new regs that I could find. Anybody...

Post Your Best Mule Deer To Date

My best bucks all come from California. Check out "My Profile" and the album "High Sierra Deer". Best is a 178 non typical which I shot in 1963 and is not with the others. I'll have to dig into my old pictures for it. This is a 5x5 buck (probably in the high 160's, never measured it) taken in...

Yeti Coolers cuts all ties with NRA

Just saw a press release that Yeti has cut all ties with the NRA. I don't own any, but sure as hell won't buy anything with the Yeti label on it now. Too many other products out there that do a great job for a lot less money!

    How much do you shoot/practice?

I was wondering how much practice and or shooting everyone does. I am a firm believer in practice, dry firing and popping primers! I shoot competitively a couple of time a month (Cowboy Action), usually shoot trap once a month and shoot twice a week (Nov thru March) in a Bulls Eye Pistol...

What would you do with my 270 win?

Primers look fine to me. How does the .308 group with the hotter load? I would shoot the hottest load that groups the best and does not show signs of excessive pressure. Looks like your going to have to find what the .270 likes. I have found that sometimes even 1/2 grain above or below will...

    Gun show time!

Next weekend our rifle/pistol club is having their annual Gun Show. I am sharing a table with my son. I want a new concealed carry gun, so I'm selling my old one. Also have a couple of shotguns, a derringer and some misc. stuff. My son is getting rid of a couple of Browning Superposed O/Us, M1A1...

    Reloading benches! Show them

I really have more than just a bench. I built a 15 x 30 room on the back of the Garage. I do all my reloading, gun cleaning and minor gun repair there. I also have a big wardrobe to store all my hunting clothes in and an office desk. My wife also has a potting bench and keeps her gardening...

Finally....SW Colorado got some good snow!

Well, almost a month later than my OP, it's snowing like hell! Got up about 5:30am and let my Lab out and it was spitting a little snow. Now it's 10:00 and it has nor quit. We have about 4" on the ground and it is still really coming down. I should have known, took the blade off my Rhino last...

Colorado P & W seeks to raise all fees

The State Senate unanimously approved a request by Parks & Wildlife to increase all fees in 2019. This includes all hunting and fishing licenses and tags. The proposed elk tag for a non resident would go from $450 to $660 and the fee for residents would go from $45 to $53. Still has a ways to go...

What has everyone saw for birds this year

Took this picture this afternoon (March 9). They are still here. They were on my pond with some honkers. Took off right after I took this, pretty wary. Specs! White Front or Specklebelly Geese showed up in my pasture today. They were with about 100 Canadas. First time ever seen Specs here...
