My Dad didn't serve in the military during WWII, they wouldn't let him even tho he tried to join several times. Dad was the Superintendent of the P-51 Mustang assembly line at North American Aviation. They told him he was too valuable making airplanes.

I have 2 Uncles that served in Europe during WWII. One didn't come home. Thanks to them and all their fellow military Brothers & Sisters for their service and protecting the freedom we enjoy today. TEN HUT!

I have a set of Browning all leather boots that I have resoled twice. They are on their 3rd set of vibrim sole. They have several leather patches on the uppers too. Great boots....too bad they don't make them any more.,

Hilltop is spot on. The other thing I can add is pick some units that have doe/fawn tags and apply for those. Gets you in the unit and boots on the ground to see what is there. Oh ....and it gets some good eating in your freezer.

Sounds to me like you are doing all the right things.
