You should really enjoy that rifle and cartridge. I haven't heard anything about that scope but I do have a couple of Burris scopes on hand guns and they have held up great. All of my rifles pack Leupolds except for one old Redfield

I have always said that until jail time is mandatory that they will never slow it down. Poaching by its very definition shows that they have no regard to the laws to taking away their licenses and tags will have very little consequences.

That's the smart way of doing it. At my favorite hunting spot for elk I can do the same thing. Only problem is drawing a cow tag anymore.

Making a jig to hold them centered shouldn't be that hard. You would want a flat nose to start the drill bit and it may take some experimenting to get it just right. You could use some milk jugs filled with water or see if you could find some ballistic gel to shoot them into.
