    Conservation And Trophy Hunting

Just finished watching and it was very interesting. You did a good job on discussing trophy vs meat hunting. As the presentation was winding down the discussion started going towards what the hunter can use to improve their success in the field. Lots of different "tools " were part of the...

    Leupold Spotting Scope

Guys this is a great buy. I was seriously looking at it, but it has a straight eye piece and I am used to an angled one.

    WGFD Proposed Changes

The unit I like to hunt has no type 6 doe/fawn tags again this year, 2 years in a row. Lat time I was there we actually saw more bucks than does.

The 1 Thing You Learned- Cooking Wild Game

Lets start out way before you light the fire! Take care of your meat. Learn how to butcher it yourself, that's the only way YOU have control! I've seen lots of game with flies, dirt and hair all over it. If a piece of prime beef was treated this way, it would taste like crap.

    The Most Important Data...

I tend not to hunt many new areas. States and units that I have had good success in are my main targets. That said, preference points required for a successful draw are my number one piece of information I want. I have already done the research (often times many years before) and usually am very...

    Help me decide...

Unless you know the area and have done some scouting in advance of the season, Colorado M/L could be really tough. It has archery season for several weeks before M/L opens and there could be lots of bow hunters in your area. Good advice from Jim.

    New Electric Endurance Beta Truck

When comparing my older 7.3 to the newer 6.7, I am sure both are very reliable and comparable in that respect. My 6.7 definately has more power than my older 7.3, but gets a lot less mpg. I also am sure it's because of all the pollution controls on the newer engine. Jim is right about...

    New Electric Endurance Beta Truck

Actually the only reason I got rid of my 1999 SuperDuty Powerstroke was we were planning an extended rv trip to Alaska and I wanted something with less miles on it. It actually got better mileage than my current 6.7.

    New Electric Endurance Beta Truck

I respectfully disagree. It does depend on how you are using the vehicle. I have not owned a gas pickup truck since 1983, all diesels since then. I don't believe a gas rig could compare with what I put a truck through. My last Powerstroke had 300,000 miles on it when I traded it off for a newer...

So I watched a you tube video the other night.......

Definitely need to see the video. If he had he hunting rifle on his body, my view is that he was hunting. Glassing and no rifle, could be defined as not hunting. Just my take. I'm sure someone who knows Wyoming law with chime in.

    2021 Fishing

Yes it did. I also did a big fish fry for one of the organizations I belonged to. There were 20 of us who did the charter for 6 or 7 years. It was fun.

    2021 Fishing

White Sea Bass, Totoaba, corvina (several varieties) are all croakers. They croak when you take them out of the water. All great eating. I was only about 10 years old when my Dad and several friends took me with them to San Felipe in northern Baja to fish Totoaba. They rented skiffs and we went...

    2021 Fishing

Orangemouth Corvina. They were planted in the Salton Sea south of Palm Springs. Used to catch a lot of them, some as big as the one in the picture. Great eating too. The water got too salty about 25 years ago and they died out as they couldn't spawn. My Dad and Grandfather in about 1980 with...
