Most on the forum know this, but for those who don't.....the feed grounds wouldn't be necessary if they burned down all the towns and ranches that were build on the winter range. The feed grounds are paid for by hunters, not tourists, photographers, or ranchette owners.

You need to apply for a "Type 6" tag instead of a "Type 7" tag. Look through the hunting regulations book, and you will see that most of the units that have a "Type 7" also have a "Type 6". If not, you may want look at hunting a different unit.

That draw fee is why I decided to get to get off the pot and use my elk points in CO. There was a 3 point jump in the unit I chose, likely because other NRs decided to do the same. I will likely hunt CO again, but only on a tag with 0 points.
