    Piebald Fawn

They are always cool to see. We had a young buck hanging around up here a long time ago but I never did hear what happened to him. Last year we found a piebald spike elk while hunting in Utah and since we were on a spike hunt we tried to set up for him on opening morning. However we...

The dumbest, or funniest thing you've witnessed in the field

Back in 1995 on our second javelina hunt north of Tucson my partner and I hiked up to one of the local peaks to do some glassing. Naturally after a good hike we decided to take a nap and when we awoke we were in the middle of a butterfly hatch. There were thousands of butterfly's all around...

    Rattlesnakes

For a real nice big one you need to head down south and get a Eastern Diamondback. They are quite a bit larger than the Western Diamondback and are a lot prettier to me..

Here is what you do with a 7' ceiling. It might not work well if you have young kids or curious pets.

    Hunting Industry Meltdown?

My new neighbor a Highway Patrol trooper here in Colorado said that she is writing twice as many speeding tickets now than she did before the shutdown. She said that reckless driving tickets are also on the upswing.

No More Kentucky Windage In The Field!!

The real problem is that you have no idea of what the wind is doing down range even with a 100 yard shot. Where you are sitting it might be a 5 mph wind from the east and by the time that the bullet gets to the target it is a 20 mph wind from the west. If I remember right one of the snipers...

Screwed Up in Wyoming Last Years Draw

I may of just missed it when I looked through the web site, or it might not of even been listed on it but I'll take responsibility for screwing up for the two of us that were putting in together. That screw up perhaps cost me a antelope tag this year, we'll see after the draw.

    Hunting Industry Meltdown?

Stores should be able to open on a limited bases. I know that the grocery stores here in Colorado have no restrictions, they take as many shoppers as they can. However a hardware store that I have been going to limits the number of shoppers to 5 in the store at one time. They shut down...

    Rattlesnakes

A number of years ago down in Arizona hunting javelina I was tracking one and came upon this. Over the years we have hiked back into that canyon calling it the snake draw and always have fun meeting new friends So far we haven't shot any out of this den site and have taken a number of...

    Hunting applications during Corona.

When I was a kid in grade school my dad worked construction and we would only stay in one town usually only a month. So I would see a number of different schools during the year along with long trips through multiple states when we would head to a new job. While I did learn a lot about...

    Official Post Padding Thread

I have found that you can now get through all the aisles in Costco now that they have eliminated the free samples. The free grazers no longer jamb up the ends and you can acually go up and down the aisles without having to turn around and backtracking.

    Uh Oh Drought...

For those of you who are wondering how much snow there is at your favorite hunting area here is a web site that you can check it out. I have no idea why Colorado doesn't have more sites than they have posted here...

    Uh Oh Drought...

I wouldn't even start to worry about it until June. I have seen spring storms come through and dump 2-3 foot of real wet snow in April and May. And I have seen it rain just about every day during July and August where I didn't even need to water my lawn.
