    Canadian Border Opening! You Going?

Here's an update with a bit of positive information. 1. The border service strike is apparently settled and they have a tentative contract signed. 2. I was able to schedule an approved covid test at the nearest Walgreens. That is either free or paid for by my insurance, so I can cancel the...

    Logistic information Region “M”

We were antelope hunting in part of the M deer zone, and found this abandoned pickup off of a 2-track. It had rained a couple days before, and I was able to get around on my Polaris Ranger, but it was a grind. Even the main roads, if not paved can become a quagmire with a little rain or snow...

Congrats Marcus. There's nothing wrong with that time on a tough course. I always loved to do trail runs, but don't expect to match times with what you have done on flat surfaces. Even if the course if relatively flat, you have to be very careful on your footing and pacing. If you have a...

    Canadian Border Opening! You Going?

Thanks for the info Slugz. I looked at the link, and the problem for me is the cost is quite a bit more, and it's 55 miles to the nearest UPS drop-off. If it doesn't get to me in time, then the trip is off. This clearly is a good option for frequent travelers though, especially if you are...

    Canadian Border Opening! You Going?

Several of us are going through the process for crossing into Ontario for a fly-in fishing trip. Besides the passport, you need proof of vaccination, and an approved Covid free test within the last 72 hours. With all that you need to pre-register on their on line portal. So far the biggest...

    Time to buy points.

I bought mine for A/D/E a few days ago. I only go after those critters in WY with GEN tags for deer and elk. The antelope area that I have hunted is a harder to draw area (5 to 7 pts.), but have used that while building points or doing hunts in WY or CO. But, the pts. required to draw have...

That's killing it BC. A 6 minute mile is a real butt-kicker, and most of the guys who can do it are scrawny skinny. I hope that last picture you posted with the kettle-bell wasn't you. If so, I think you have to back off on your training a bit. LOL

    Canadian Border Opening!

Some of the guys from my deer camp used to go the Sask. to shoot geese and ducks. They would come back almost bloody and bruised from all the shooting. The one time I was invited, I had a work conflict, and age and poor health eventually ended those hunts. I wasn't much of a shotgunner back...

Wyo Task Force - Nonres Comments!

I've stayed out of this discussion since I have nothing invested in WY other than antelope/deer/elk. I do buy the Super Tags, but that is a straight up raffle. Hilltops musing on rolling NR points into other species would completely change the odds that are already becoming out of reach for us...

Marcus; Did you misspell the Motor City name on purpose? It may have been a Freudian slip, but either way it is appropriate.

    Reloading Supplies

I was browsing on Midway yesterday, and saw that they have some of the hard to find ammo (from US mfg.) in stock. Prices were still high, but no where near where they were a short while ago. 9mm and 223/556 are not back to my price point yet, but will be ready to order when they are.

If the snippy snip is what I think it is, you may very well be getting all the cardio you need just in your daily activities. I went to karate class the day after mine, but looking back, it was a foolish thing to do. Sorry, but I don't have any pictures.

    Canadian Border Opening! You Going?

I've looked at some cancellation hunts, but the $$$$ are still far higher than I am willing to pay. I do have a fly-in fishing trip on August 14th that I hope to make. I have also been looking at a Sutton River trip. There's sea run Brook Trout galore in late August/early Sept. To add to the...

    Canada/US border opening

It looks like it's official; the border is opening to US folks crossing into Canada effective August 9th. Proof of vaccination is required. I have a fly-in fishing trip scheduled for August 14th, and am waiting for the outfitter to verify that the trip is a go. This trip was a back-up plan...

Wyo Task Force - Nonres Comments!

Home mortgage rates were 8 1/2 to 9 1/2 percent for many years, and my first mortgages were in that area for my first 3 homes. I had a 10% fixed mortgage for the first new house that I built, and was considering lowering the rate with a variable rate. That was in 1979, and it was a good thing...

I don't get it either Buzz. I've been looking at real estate in WY for almost 20 years, and it appears to be going the way much of the west has.......what I would call Californicated. I was all set to move to northern Idaho after my truck broke down while on a family trip around 1985, and I...

We stop at Pond's for lunch sometimes while snowmobiling out of Island Park. I've never stayed there, but it looks like a decent place and the food is good.
