I do not have any with ballistic turrets but I have leupolds on all my rifles. I have tried others over the years and ended up selling them on Ebay. Lots of scopes look really good in the store but in the field I have not found anything that I like better.

I know a lot of guys who hunt central to southern Wisconsin along the Wisconsin river. From what they say if your not on private land the hunting pressure is very intense.

Weatherby came out with another 6.5mm the 6.5 RPM, from what I have seen it appears to duplicate the 6.5 PRC. They developed it to fit in a 6 lug bolt. Interesting but I'm not sure the world needs yet another 6.5.

That's exactly what I do, it helps a lot but my fingers still get cold.

I spent a couple of weeks in the area several years ago hunting antelope and elk. Spent all of the time in the NW part of the unit. There were some decent deer up around Pine Creek

Sad story, but your wife shot a beautiful bull. I have a similar story that haunted me for years. I've been told that if you hunt long enough it's going to happen but that didn't make me feel any better either. Keep your chin up and thank you for being so ethical.

A few years back we received permission to cross private land to access about 1,000 or so acres of State and BLM in Wyoming. We did everything right and while we hunting on it we ran in to a different rancher who was none to pleased with our presence. He told me that he leased all of this land...

Sure hard to beat a 300 wby ballistics but like everyone else here has already said inside of 400 yards almost any of the modern calibers will do the job. Personally I like 30 calibers but I know a lot of folks that really like the 270 wsm.
