    WY Bison/Moose/Mtn Goat/Sheep

No moose for me. We will see if I can hang in there for a few more years or not. I'm stuck in the "if I only had 1 more point" category :) . At least the money goes to a good cause! Good luck to everyone.

    Mule Deer Pics

:) Thanks! Not quite like the giants you hold out for, but I sure was happy with every one of them. The tailgate pic brings back great memories for sure. Not too bad for a public land OR hunt :) The first two bucks (mounted) were from CO, then one from ID and two from NV. Hope to draw a few...

    Turkey hunting ?

Got my three birds in OR, hopefully I'll run into a spring bear next :) Had a slow start, but things got a bit better starting last week. Killed a couple jakes and a nice gobbler. Here's a pic of the bigger one.

Update on Colorado Regulation Changes for 2028

At least, in the case of only one tag it goes to the high point holders pool. UT is tough ona for the high point holders because the way they subdivided all the units for OIL species, if there is only 1 tag it goes random. And very few ever have more than 1 tag. That's cool for someone with low...

    Turkey hunting ?

I'll be going here in OR. Turkey hunting is pretty good over the last ten or fifteen years. We are actually up to a 3 spring gobbler limit and I usually can find a way to get all 3 for the most part. They make it tougher and only allow one per day bag limit :) Turkey and spring bear are pretty...

    Colorado Hunting in 2025

I'm in for only points this year in CO most likely. I have a ID whitetail tag and should get my MT deer and WY antelope. Who knows if I'll get lucky in UT or NV and in OR I should have my blacktail MZ tag.

    Helicopter Bear & Wolf Hunting

I think these hunts are used as a tool by the game department to control predator populations. I have no problem with this method as a management tool in units that have struggling moose, sheep and caribou populations. I give the department credit for trying to help ungulate poppulations rebound...

    Quail and Javelina

That's cool, congrats! Mine was not a real big one this year. He was just average, but as usual I had a great time and he'll be some good eats! It was so nice to be in the mild weather for a few days!

    Quail and Javelina

I ended up with a little boar that I shot with my MZ. Congrats on your javelina. Contrary to what you hear, they make good tablefare if taken care of correctly. They make for a nice pack out too :) !

    Seven Years Ago

Cool thanks, I better get with planning that sitka blacktail hunt this year I guess :) Kind of funny, I have been hunting AK for years, with family from there. But, I have never shot a sitka blacktail, mostly because I've always been trying to get species that I'm not allowed/can't hunt without...

    Seven Years Ago

The next one I decided to gamble on an early October hunt and see what I could do. I would be in a different unit than the first time, but had some good insight from some great guys (now good friends) I met while javelina hunting the first time. It was a very tough hunt, with hot weather. The...
