    Favorite mule deer bullet?

30-06 - 165 grain Hornady Interbond for everything. They haven't ever given me a reason to change over the last 25 years.

    Social media affects

I enjoy helping others but I strongly feel that needs to be done through private messages. Otherwise you are "helping" 50 other guys with the same information and actually making it bad for all.

Have really enjoyed this thread. I really expected the new material would run out but that hasn't happened lol. Keep it up guys.

    2020 Fall Plans???

Unless I shoot my bull in the first 2 days of season, I am going to miss the teal opener here. My lab and my 11 year old will be sad but we plan to get after them when I get back. Teal are by far my favorite duck so I concentrate on the pretty hard until most of them leave in late...

    Moon phase and mule deer

The moon can have an impact on deer movement but in the mountains, in October, weather and pressure play a much bigger role. I tend to agree with others, hunt when it works for you and your time off.

Can't buy points until the year he turns 12.

    Youth Antelope Hunts

You have a few years - he has to be 12 to hunt or turn 12 by Dec 31st to buy preference points that year. The way point creep is going, a lot could change between now and then. Literally any area in Wyoming can be a good hunt if you have access. The areas with more access are in higher...

    Introduction

Welcome to the forum Brock! As your research narrows your areas down, feel free to ask questions. Most of us prefer PM's as information becomes specific but I think you will find several guys in the know willing to help you out. Thanks for your service!

    Scouting 2020

Here one one that will be on the hit list. From late June so has a lot of growth left to happen. Thinking he will end up as a really nice bull when growth is finished.

What would be your dream hunt?

I love to bow hunt elk. I'm fortunate to have hunted them for the past 30 years. They will likely always be at the top of my list, no matter how many I shoot.

    Wyoming Unit 52-2 Antelope

Welcome to the forum. I have hunted there a few times many years ago and had good results. You should have no problem getting an upper 70s buck with that amount of time. The occasional 80"+ buck comes out of the area. We do see a few in the foothills but generally focus lower. Couldn't hurt...

What Is Your Favorite Gun To Shoot???

As far as just fun, it has to be my old Rem 870. I really enjoy shooting trap and have won a few competitions with the old gun. Always fun to beat guys with 3k trapguns with my $250 WalMart special. Hunting, I love to shoot my Ruger 30-06. Pistol is my M&P shield in .40 cal.

    Wyoming Left-Over Draw Results

I would help if I could but I am not very familiar with that area. I have had a lot of luck through the years contacting regional game wardens. Some of them have had a lead or two that turned into good permission. Worth a shot imo.

    Wyoming Left-Over Draw Results

I drew a cow tag that should be fairly easy to fill. My wife was even excited about that. No antelope or deer tags I had any interest in.

    Cow or calf tag

Depending on the area, some of those tags are good for the entire area during archery and private only for the other seasons. The idea is the cows they want to manage are often on forest early in the season but end up on private by rifle season. One area they do this in that I am familiar with...

    Mule deer broadhead

I would go to your archery shop to make sure you are shooting the correct spine of arrow for your draw weight and length. Here is a link that can help explain what this means- https://eastonarchery.com/2014/07/making-sense-of-arrow-spine/ Both expandables and fixed will work great for mule...

    The July/August Fat Off

My 7/1 weight was 251. I'm 6'2" with a big frame- I feel great under 240 so my goal is 235 by 8/28 when I leave for Wyoming. I'll hit it easily if my friends would quit throwing backyard BBQ's with coolers full of everything bad.
