If you hunt the opener, expect to see other hunters. Wait for a few days and they will all disappear.

    Favorite mule deer bullet?

Yep. Bought them by the pound. Took home and inspected for obvious cosmetic damage. Weighed each one and rolled them for concentricity. Bought lots of them for my 22/250 back then.

    Favorite mule deer bullet?

The largest caliber I use Sierras in is my 30-06. I use the 150 gr Game King BT bullet and have never had a problem. I also use them in my .25's. I have shot literally 100's of deer, antelope, elk and feral hogs with them for the last 60 years or so with no expansion issues. All my dealing with...

    Leupold CDS suggestions

No. I sent all the ballistic data of the load I am going to shoot(all the stuff Leupold asks for) and they make their turret with the yardage adjustments tailored to that particular load. When I turn the knob to 375, it compensates for bullet drop and lets you hold dead on, no guessing for...

NEWS RELEASE: P&Y Changes Policy on Velvet Animals

I remember the first buck deer I got that was in the velvet. I was probably 18 or 19 at the time. I striped all the velvet off, washed the blood off and used light brown wax shoe polish to finish off the horns. They were pretty ugly!!

    Picked up some land

Not like when I was a youngster. I lived in a suburb of LA (Downey) and we used to drive 1/2 hour to 3/4 hr and hunt deer, quail, pheasants and rabbits. It's all houses and malls now. My Dad killed tons of deer in Malibu where we had 10 acres of land. Fishing in the ocear used to be outstanding...

    Picked up some land

We are going to Austin, Nv probably in Sept to look at 10 acres. It is part of the old homestead my GGGrandfather had in the 1880's. It has part of the old stone cabin he built on the original 160 acres.
