    After being a part of the mule deer migration video over the course of the last year, I can assure you that in Wyoming they for sure care. My suspicion is that they do in the other states as well but bureacracy makes movement tough for sure.

    If there ever was a time for it, especially with so many people applying in other states that require it, not too tough of a pill to swallow. The people at the cash registers will be the ones who end up dealing with the crazy from someone who doesn't pay attention and can't buy their general tag...

    Yup, you nailed it there IMO. Roadkill numbers are also one that is very telling to me as well, those numbers in winter can have VERY costly effects on isolated populations. Especially since it tends to be the young that get hammered on the roads. One bad stretch of roads in the winter knocks...

    IMO, what needs to happen in a big way is pushing quality people to run on a local level. It starts with local politics, if we want to have to stop picking "evils" let's get people we don't consider to be that in office in local politics.

    I will second that opening day can be good with scouting. One caveat I will add is that there are quite a few migratory hunts for antelope, late season can be an absolute ball if you time it right when the goats are there.
