I don't qualify. I don't own enough land, I only have 10 acres and it is now zoned agriculture, it is residential. I still have not heard on my elk app. I have enough points that I could have drawn it last year, with point creep might not have enough this year.

Just checked again, my deer results are finally posted. Didn't draw, I really didn't think I would, but you never know. My first choice was a pref point with my second a private land doe tag for a freezer filler. That tag was right at my home place where there are tons of deer. But 2nd choice...

    WY 90/10 Deer/Elk/Antelope Question

When I first hunt Wyoming as a nonresident in 1980, we could buy doe/fawn antelope & deer tags over the counter at almost any store or gas station in the state. As I remember they were $5.00 ea and you could buy 6 each. Those days are long gone for sure.

    WY 90/10 Deer/Elk/Antelope Question

I am guessing because I have no data to back me up, but I'll bet the outfitters couldn't sell near as many hunts as the 50% that they would get if this passes. If you start looking and start to book a hunt, most tell you "I'm booked " for several years. They will probably sell them like...

    Preference Points

Were the rules for Elk. Deer & Antelope changed for how long a person can keep the points and not applying for additional points. It is now 2 years and you lose your points if you don't buy additional points. I seem to remember it was 5 years.

    Vanguard Tripods

About 10 years ago I bought a Vanguard Alta series tripod for my Leupold spotting scope. It has served me well since I bought it. During a hunting trip last year carrying it around in my SxS, i bent the handle that mounts on the swivel mount. I sent Vanguard an email explaining the problem and...

    WY 90/10 Deer/Elk/Antelope Question

I believe that if 50% of the NR tags go to outfitters, they will not sell 100% of them for outfitted/guided hunts. I think they will have to sell some of them like tresspass fee hunts. Just my take.

    WY 90/10 Deer/Elk/Antelope Question

You are 100% correct. Nonresidents will take whatever is dished out. The outfitter "welfare" is pretty obnoxious, but not unexpected as they benefit from the state's rule about nonresident hunters needing an outfitter to hunt wilderness areas.

    Load Development Ruger #1 - .300 Wby

No. The other thing I like is that I can seat the bullets a lot shallower, no box magazine that limits the OAL of the loaded round.

    Load Development Ruger #1 - .300 Wby

My original load in the other gun was 86.5 gr of RL25 with the 180 gr bullet and it was 3265 fps.

    Load Development Ruger #1 - .300 Wby

Did not take my Chronograph today. I am going to load up some more of this load and go back to the range next week. I need to get the zero at 200 and I'll take the chrono with me then. I'm guessing around 3200 fps.

    Load Development Ruger #1 - .300 Wby

Some of you might remember my getting a new Ruger #1 in .300 Wby last year. I finally got my scope back from Leupold (VXlll 4x14) and decided to work on a new load. Went to the range this morning and tested some new stuff I just loaded. I load RL 25 powder, Federal Mag primers and 180 gr Nosler...

how many of you belong to the NRA and should I renew my membership

I am an Endowment Life Member and have been since I was 18 years old (62 years ago). The NRA has changed, as society itself has changed. There is (and has been for years) a lot of sentiment out there to enact all kinds of restrictions on ownership and our use of firearms. Some are probably good...
