I live in WY and use my set-up for everything. I only shoot 65lbs at 27.5 with a 440 grain arrow and coc Magnus Buzzcut broadhead. Zips thru elk like they're made of butter. Using a bow that you can shoot accurately and is tuned well is the key IMO. Also taking high percentage shots helps.

It depends on the area and how many tags are given. Also you have to shoot a cow with no calf tagging along. Read the draw odds and apply.

I've had quite a few different packs. I bought a Stone Glacier 5900 Sky and it's the best one I own IMO. It just fits me and carries a load very well. It also compacts for a day pack.

I've hunted twice in Alaska for Dall sheep with a bow and have nothing but tag soup and memories. Both were bow only areas. I drew my Wyoming Bighorn sheep tag in 2017 and went bow only. I shot my ram on the fourth day. If you have the desire to kill sheep with a bow you have to be willing...

I prefer to hunt solo. I have friends but they can't always get time off. It would nice to have a buddy around when packing an elk out. I know a guy that is 81yrs old and still hunts solo and shoots an elk every year.
