Out of curiosity, who is planning to hunt Montana this year? Because I am only 30 miles from the border the idea of getting some extra time in the hills there intrigues me, but the cost of non-resident tags kinds of puts me off to the idea.

How many of you use a tarp of any kind for backpack hunting? For an emergency shelter? Personally I have used one a few times, in fact when I started backhunting on my own I used a cheap blue tarp from Wal-Mart. I have since used quite a few other makes and models.
