Got my three birds in OR, hopefully I'll run into a spring bear next :) Had a slow start, but things got a bit better starting last week. Killed a couple jakes and a nice gobbler. Here's a pic of the bigger one.

I'm in for only points this year in CO most likely. I have a ID whitetail tag and should get my MT deer and WY antelope. Who knows if I'll get lucky in UT or NV and in OR I should have my blacktail MZ tag.

I think these hunts are used as a tool by the game department to control predator populations. I have no problem with this method as a management tool in units that have struggling moose, sheep and caribou populations. I give the department credit for trying to help ungulate poppulations rebound...

That's cool, congrats! Mine was not a real big one this year. He was just average, but as usual I had a great time and he'll be some good eats! It was so nice to be in the mild weather for a few days!

I ended up with a little boar that I shot with my MZ. Congrats on your javelina. Contrary to what you hear, they make good tablefare if taken care of correctly. They make for a nice pack out too :) !

I'll miss the opening weekend, but I will be down for the rest of the HAM season. Really looking forward to spending some time hunting in the desert!
