Just make sure that anyone who plans to hunt with you buys points also, as your points are averaged if you apply together as a party. Even just one or two points gives you more options when you do apply for tags, as many of the easy to draw with 0 points areas have access issues.

Spend 9 days up on the mountain in WY this fall, and passed on a 4x4 for the first time as I was holding out for one bigger than those pictured below. Didn't happen. Still had a great time and will keep on trying.

Enjoy your 10 days up north Marcus. I wouldn't lament too much about the missed bear hunt, sometimes a change of direction leads to something even more rewarding. Don't eat too much fried fish or drink too much beer and you'll come back home in fine shape.

Looking at that comparison video, my biggest take-away was that the main advantage that the 6.5 C had over the 308 was reduced recoil. The ballistics don't really come into play until 600-700 yards, and IMO, no one has any business shooting at big game at that distance. I have sold my .243...

Well I did make it to Wally World yesterday. The firearms section was up and running, apparently they had just been remodeling. The 4 packs of Federal trap loads were $19.54, so I bought four of them. I quickly perused the rifles, but didn't see any spectacular deals.
