I'll apply for a lot of tags and hope to get lucky, but the most likely hunts will be Kansas deer and Montana deer. We also have a trip to Yellowstone planned for October, so that cuts into hunting time.

By and large, the term "Trophy Hunting" is just a label that anti-hunters use to place a negative connotation on big game hunting. I refuse to use it to describe myself or anyone else.

@troybackman Under "Preference Point Review and Purchase", it said in red letters I drew 1st choice Black Hills deer. I still don't know about my West River application, it just says points cannot be purchased currently.

I'll be applying for a few tags, gotta wait for Wyoming results first though so I can plan the calendar.

Since I didn't draw Kansas, I'm debating between Kentucky whitetail and Colorado bear for this September. If I do Kentucky whitetail, I'll probably make several trips down this summer to the various WMAs. Mostly scouting access, likely food sources, and historical sign.

The fact that you don't have a charge doesn't bode well. My guess is increased demand bit you, same as me. I'm anxious to see the draw stats and leftover draw list, my guess is pickings are going to be even more slim than usual this year.

Haha good luck. One thing I've learned is that even a 95% odds draw is no "guarantee"! Last year the tag I put in for was 100% at my points pool, but I didn't list a 2nd or 3rd choice, and as I half-expected I have no tag :(

That is very surprising, looks like elk applications are up and deer applications are nearly the same as last year.
