Husky Dont over look Oregon and maybe Washington for roosevelt elk over the counter if your just looking for a diy hunt. Lots of pressure in Oregon but at one time the only state with more elk was Colorado if i remember correctly

Hunting was allowed in National parks at one point in time. I believe both Yellowstone and rocky mountain national parks had hunts in the past

Not sure about other states but there is a big buffer in Nevada between domestic sheep grazing areas and wild sheep populations. Nv has even bought out grazing permits to be able to plant sheep.

I plan on hitting pyarmid lake hard this year along with some high mountain lakes . We are also booked for labor day out of humbolt bay for bottom fish and hopefully tuna again this year
