Help me decide. Model 7 caliber change.

I’ve been able to convince myself I had a use for almost every caliber out there.

    Governor's tags for antelope

I think I could bid at $20K or so knowing I would not win but I am too cowardly to bid $100K!

Wyo Task Force - Nonres Comments!

If there ends up being overcrowding on certain general units the state can convert them to LQ units. Is there anything in the states statutes that says they have to maintain a specific number of general units? As interest increases from both residents and nonresidents, I am wondering if there...

    When are Wyoming tags mailed

I haven’t kept up with Montana for quite some time, the $200 NR elk tag OTC, I assume that is a cow tag is that correct? My kids are getting older and I can start planning hunts for myself next year, your post has me intrigued. Are the NR OTC tags in Montana leftovers?

Wyoming NR general tags - how many point required this year ??

I feel the same way, nothing against guided hunts, I’ve done it one time, but that’s not what gets me excited about hunting. I enjoy the preparation and scouting.

    New Bow Discussion

Everyone has already said it but be open minded and shoot them all. The last bow I purchased I went to the bow shop and I had it narrowed down to two different bows. The guy at the shop said based on my size and the way I shot, I should try a couple of different ones. Long story short I walked...

Yeah, I’ve had a few incidents with ATVs over the years myself, as soon as I get confident and let my guard down I get humbled!

Can’t help but wonder what role the beer played in him getting stuck under the ATV in the first place.

    What kind of hunter...

10 years ago I would have considered myself a die hard do whatever it takes kind of hunter. For the last 10 years I would consider myself more of a mentor, focusing more on teaching my kids and helping them fill their tags. My youngest is now 15 so in a couple more years I’ll be back to die hard.

    Question...Starter Gun For Kids?

For big game I started my kids with a 7mm-08. Started them off with 120 grain bullets to reduce recoil. After getting them the 7mm-08, I purchased a second one, I and they have become big 7mm-08 fans.

The first time I drew an elk tag in Wyoming we went for the archery season and we literally were surrounded by elk within an hour of getting there. Couldn’t close the deal on any, got caught up in the excitement and made just about every mistake a person could make. Having a bull screaming at me...

The guide we hunted with said that the wolves made the elk in that area a lot less vocal and therefore a lot harder to locate. I took his word for it, we were there around September 20th and never heard a bugle. I would do it again though, I really enjoyed the whole trip.

I was there in 2008, seen more wolf tracks than elk tracks. We went in about 10 miles from big creek. I shot a decent mule deer, biggest body I’ve seen. It was down in hole of course and just about killed our selves getting it out. Never found any elk but one of the best weeks of my life. Even...

I’ve been to Idaho, probably my favorite place. My first day in the Frank Church I was in total awe. I was a horrible elk hunter because I couldn’t stop admiring the scenery. By the way what unit do you hunt in again?

I actually understand the 90:10 argument and don’t blame the residents for pushing it. But, the way that NRs are described and disrespected by some on the forum makes me want to look elsewhere to spend my hunting money. I have hunted Wyoming 15 times and have almost always been treated very well...
