Actually this year was better than I expected. No one in the family drew any special tags so we all did OTC hunting here in Or. We archery hunted elk and rifle hunted Blacktail deer, both on the west side of the state. Neither hunts are remotely high success rates but I’ve spent toms of time...

I picked up a new project yesterday. I’m sure my cousin will take it from me as he is a ford guy and I’m a Chevy guy. Either way either him or I will fix er up. I always like at the late 60’s early 70’s fords.

My daughter working a story on her fist bull elk she took in the Caascasds of Oregon. It’s not a monster bull but for the area it’s a real nice archery elk. The unit generally has a 3% success rate on 6 point or better. I’m super proud of her, she’s something else that one.

I’ve got it down to a science in the Jeep. I can swap engines in about 10 hours. If I had a spare bell housing, flywheel and clutch set up I could cut a couple hours off it. That’s about another $1500 In parts though.

It’s been a fun summer with the Ol black Jeep. Made a dune trip, three sand drags events, local car show and have a 1/8 asphalt race in about a week. Lost the 383 after the sand dune trip so I put the 427 back in. So

My daughter has been tagging along with me for 10 years when I go bow hunting elk in the Cascade mountains. Last years she decided she wanted to start packing a bow too. She connected on her first elk last Saturday with a 9 yard shot. I’m super proud of her grit and desire, it not an easy place...
