With the proposed 75/25 split and loss of NR tags CPW estimates a $1.4M loss in revenue but they said they could handle it.

CPW is actually doing pretty well for NRs IMO. On the subjects of Group Averaging and Preference Point Banking CPW pretty much recommended what public comments favored. Same with alternatives for big game License Allocation between residents and nonresidents where overall, 75/25 (R/NR)...

If you read my post from yesterday on the CPW Commission Meeting I summarized their discussions on all of this … and outlined how resident's will lose tags in high demand units.

Colorado Parks & Wildlife Commission Meeting, 15-16 March 2023

During today's Colorado Parks & Wildlife Commission Meeting, they discussed some HOT topics; to include Preference Point Banking, Group Averaging, and Big Game License Allocations. Here are my notes: Prior to this meeting, CPW’s Staff conducted public outreach on these topics, which could be...

I don't know where the OP is from, but assuming NR, last year GMU 44 took 26 NR points for 4th season and 24 for 3rd so you don't currently have enough for those seasons. 2nd season "only" took 15 points so you should be able to get that. Success rates for all those seasons averages in the 60%...

    Will Colorado ever do this?

The CPW Commissioners are looking at many things. But I haven’t heard any discussion of that.

Leupold Firedot Twil;ight Hunter Illuminated Reticle

I have an older version of the Leupold VX 4.5x14x50. It's a great scope with a plain crosshair. It's a second focal plane scope. I believe the new version has a ballistic reticle which generally performs much better with a first focal plane scope. Other than that, I'll bet it's great.

    Nosler Rifle Model 21

Sound like a good rifle. But honestly, for a novice shooter who doesn't reload he might wanna start out with a Savage ... great all-around rifle. And I'd recommend a 30-06 for antelope, deer & elk, especially if he's gonna buy ammo off the shelf.

WYOMING 90/10 UPDATE | The best blog you'll read all year! - by Guy Eastman

I would agree CC, CPW officials have a good feel for what's going on in their areas. And as I mentioned before, those CPW professional biologists and wildlife officers are already beginning to work on the next five year plan. There will be opportunities for public input as they work through...

WYOMING 90/10 UPDATE | The best blog you'll read all year! - by Guy Eastman

You may be right, but I’m currently calling CPW Wildlife Officers and Biologists across the state and that’s not what they’re reporting.
