If I'm in the woods with a rifle during a rifle season, then I just carry my rifle, which includes my muzzleloader. I don't archery hunt in the mountains anymore but during my summer scouting trips and packing trips, I carry a revolver, 3" barrel in .44 special. I'm worried about people more...
I own a havalon and only use the short blades in it. I also carry a wyo pac saw and an outdoor edge game skinner. I think this is a good small setup. To buy a fixed blade knife, you would spend a lot more money and then carry a sharpener also. If you have replaceable blades, when you have to...
I saw that Colorado set a record for # of tags applied for across the board. So their little computer snafu worked out perfectly for them and it should make it a little harder to get the tags that we want.
I have not hunted a deer west of I 25 in at least 15 years, all my hunts have been on the eastern plains. Hope fully the unit I chose, I can draw with 2nd choice. I still want to get 1 or 2 more points before I blow them all. I'm trying to figure out if those high country early rifle is all that...
I would set up kids and grand kids for the rest of their lives. Buy some muscle cars. Finish my pilots license and buy a plane. Anything left would go to charities.
I put in for hunts in August, September, October and November. I am on the edge of drawing the August Antelope tag but should draw all the others. I like to spread them out so I dedicate time to each hunt. I use to only be able to take a couple of days off and tried to crowd too many tags in a...
Do you remember the name of the indian tracker in "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance kid"? He could track them anywhere, even over hard rock. His name is Lord Baltimore. I always liked that for a dog who had his nose to the ground all the time.
I think the term " trophy hunting" is used more by people who don't hunt or don't hunt very much or was raised hunting but don't anymore. People use this term and it has a connotation that the meat is left to rot and the head is on our wall. I think it is used when the term "hunting " is all...
I would think a total confiscation of all equipment ( truck, trailer, camper, atv, guns, and gear ) and a felony would go a long way. If it goes to court, that is when the plea bargaining starts and hands get slapped. I would love to go to an auction and have a chance to buy what people hold...
At least you know how many tags are available. Here in Colorado, we apply and find out after the draw how many tags are available. You pretty much have to go off of the previous years allocation. Unless anyone else knows any different?
1. Quota of tags available
2. How has that changed over the years, if they keep going down, there is a reason.
3. points required, I dont like burning them unless I have to.
