We are having a Swimming Pool installed, and the Roadrunners have made themselves scarce. I only see them on the neighbors' rooftops or running through the underbrush... And to think I just bought them a family pack of thin pork chops, they're favorite. 💥

I had 2 bows blow up on me, so I am stuck with store- bought meats. For the foreseeable future Smoked Cornish Hens and Andoie Sausage isn't bad. Either is Beef ribs and baby backs! I did make Javelina sausage, mixed with pork shoulder and jerky that turned out great. I even made steaks...

I have gotten some serious hindquarters off of them, but 5lb.backstraps? "Fish Cop" would be lucky with 1/4lb., maybe 1/2lb. if he put his finger on the scale. I have been hunting Jackalope for 50yrs. and have yet to see one, although the the same goes for Mountain Lions... 💥

I'll take a Jack over a cottontail any time, the big Antelope Jack we have here are huge, you just need to cook them low and slow. They get bigger than those little yappy lap dogs! ;) 💥

I cut them into quarters and slow cook them for 3-4 hours in chicken broth, served over rice. 💥

I once dyed some camo dark green before a hunt up in the pines. When I arrived in August the whole forest was brown, with dead pine needles and brown tree bark. I stood out like a sore thumb! 💥

My brother drew 2 Antelope tags in 2 yrs. with no points!!! 💥 I guess he sent a $ tip.;)

I enjoy getting away from the house, (Family) and gardening. The only drawback is the Roadrunners supervising and begging for food!

Wow, you grew an egg, nice peppers, and a little girl. Great garden! lol! I have pumpkins, onions, and garlic. But unexpected frost and a little snow the past 2 mornings may have knocked them down. Planning on Spaghetti Squash in the coming weeks.💥:cool:

I have Hank's book "Hunt, Gather, Cook right in front of me... My Internet keeps cutting out so I need something to read. (Christmas present) I smoked a pork shoulder (butt) and Cornish Hens for the "Supper" bowl so it's street taco Sunday! 💥 Cilantro...? YES, please.

If your cooking Southwest you have to have cumin! A main staple with any meat. Hatch chile stew sounds great. 💥 :cool:

Try leaving out the tomatoes and adding some Serrano chilies and whole green chilies, Az. style, with the small street, flout tortillas on the side for dipping.💥:cool:

Very cool, I live in a desert region and rarely see Rattlesnakes. When I do they are near water. We actually harvested 4 in one day with our bows at Lake Pleasant Az. Pic of a small one caught bare-handed with my 2 uncles!💥
