I was looking at getting a 8 man tipi and found a company called seek outside. the seek outside is a little bit less money, but I am not sure if the quality is as good as kifaru. We are only talking about a roughly 10% difference in price. I do have a kifaru 4 man tipi now. Anyway how good...
There is a field by my place that march will usually have 40-60 head of elk in it.
This morning, probably only about 10 elk in the field. I do got to say I see elk fairly often, no more than a couple of days go buy with out seeing elk.
Over 10 years now, I have been watching this unfold...
I have been reading Eastmans Hunting Journal and I am curious as to others opinions on a certain subject.
A few months back there was an article about a gentleman who shot a really nice buck and he was bragging about not using a guide service. But this gentleman assembled one heck of a team to...
Last night while eating dinner, I looked at my wife and said," I shoot should shoot a spike every year, this guy is really good."
While I like to look at the herd bulls on my wall, the spikes have been the tastiest. I really do enjoy that Idaho lets you hunt elk every year with an otc tag...
since this winter has been a no show. which for me sucks big time. We decided not to do a winter trip(which sucks, I love winter more than hunting) but take the allotted time off and go rafting. I saw on recreation.gov a permit for the desolation canyon in eastern Utah. We will be putting in...
I just wanted to see if there was any other .270 wsm fans? The caliber has been good to me for deer, bear and sheep. I did shoot a bull elk with it this year, but will probably go back to my .338 for elk.
For me atleast, 4x12 scope and 140 gr accubonds, seems to be a good combo in the...
I am doing a remote mule deer hunt in mid November. I was wondering if whitetail grunt tubes, rattling and can calls work on mulie's during the rut?
thanks

How come no whitetail success thread? This idaho boy has to travel big time to find muleys but whitetails are everywhere.
Lets show some love for those cagey whitetail bucks.
My just one pack has packed a lot of animals. And it smells that way. What is the best way to wash a pack? big commercial washer? Take to a dry cleaner, let it air dry and deal with it?
thanks

Curious as to what others think. But you are on a backpack hunt, and you take a wolf. do you end the hunt and get the wolf hide out or do you skin the wolf hang it somewhere and keep hunting for your intended quarry?
I have a small parcel of land, that borders bigger parcels and national forest. Lots of turkeys(nuisance birds) running around. I let a fellow and his kid hunt the land. Anyway, If I am in my house or shop, and they are hunting near by, can I go outside and do stuff?
If the turkeys are...
Another couple and I are going to raft the grand ronde river in north east Oregon. Does that count as exercise?
completely self supported, rowing my fully loaded raft. should be fun.
the wife and I before our 135 mile salmon river float a couple of years ago.
The RMEF gave my brother and I a plaque last night. My dad was a big supporter of the rmef. I joined in 1992, and have continued his legacy of giving to the elk foundation. Hope you are proud dad.

It dawned on me, that a lot of folks on this site, don't get in the mountains year round, and don't really now what normal snowpacks are like. It might be may on the calendar and you are in shorts at home. But there is still lots of snow up high. These pics where taken may 1st in north...
I was snowmobiling yesterday in north Idaho. Depending on your situation, excellent snowpack for may 1st. Might have to keep riding for awhile. For others, bad snowpack, you aint getting in the high country for awhile.
Now what if this whole duck dynasty thing was a cooked up mess to sell more stuff. think about it. why would GQ interview this guy? The whole thing came out a couple of weeks before Christmas, Just in time to sell ****loads of stuff on the internet. More people know about this show than ever...
just curious as if there are any other snowmobiliers on the site. For me, all other sports and activities come second to sledding. Been a major factor in my life since I was 12. Snowmobiling for me, is truly the best way to cover mountain country. The mountains can just be the greatest...
