My buddy and I are one point below max for AZ deer and seriously considering burning points this year, as we have drawn only one other tag for a Sept elk hunt. Dates seem a little later than typical? Curious to get some thoughts. We are thinking of maybe 12B. Anyone been on any of the 12...
Wyoming elk results are posted. We drew unit 38 archery bull tags.
Feels funny to draw a tag in the 1st lottery of the year. Not used to that. Last year I got like 30 USUCS before pulling a rabbit out of my hat in New Hamsphire!
Good luck!
Curious if anyone here has bowhunted elk in unit 38. Been searching through archives and seen some good comments, then a few that say they ran into a lot of other hunters. One in our party is one point below max, so this looks to be one of our few options if we want to draw this year.
Anybody else be hunting Iowa for deer this year? No western tags for me, so good thing I burned my points for a nonresident zone 5 archery tag. Scouted public land 4 days in February and got my spots lined up and GPSed. The 6"-10" rubs in my area look more like they were made by elk.
Anyone else here ever hunted New Hampshire for moose? I am curious what to expect. Never hunted the northeast before. They gave out very few tags this year due to tick predation.
Attention both Utah residents and nonresidents:
If you are against giving away your public land big game tags to a private organization (SFW) who peddles them off but refuses to disclose how 2.5 million $ of the proceeds are spent……………………please sign the petition at the link below ASAP. Utah’s...
Anyone else here apply for moose in New Hampshire? Results posted today.
I beat the 1% draw odds and snagged a zone C2(ES) tag. Pretty bad to still have only 1% odds after applying for 14 years! ;)
OK so I have done a ton of scouting and have saved lots of GPS coordinates for this fall's hunting season. Now I'm scared to death I'll drop and lose my GPS and get screwed. The coordinates are worth more than the GPS! Anyone know of a website or somewhere I can store these in case I lose my...
Well today was the last day to apply in Nevada. I have been stacking points for years and would now like to cash some in, so I picked a lot of units where I hope to have a realistic chance, at least for Lope & deer. I have 13 points for most critters.
I am hoping the draw odd on MM are...
I have the points to draw a NR Mt. Emily archery elk tag this year. Figure I better try while it's an off year for outfitter tags. I have a good chance at a conflicting Utah tag. Does OR allow you to turn your tag back in if necessary? Anybody been to Emily lately? Thanks.
I could not get the list previously posted to work, so I'm posting this other link to view the AZ Sportsmen's Constituent Group webcast tonight. Click on this link and you can view the agenda, then go down and you will see the webcast link they posted in one of the lower paragraphs.
Please...
I have 15 NR points and am seriously considering burning these for one NR Paunsagunt archery deer tag this year. Could be as long as 5 years for me to get a rifle or mzl tag there and those hunts are not slam dunks. I enjoy archery better anyway, but I've never archery hunted for mulies. Have...
They promised AZ sportsmen there would be no wealth tags. That sure didn't take long!!! SFW just tip toed around AZG&F and introduced a bill asking for 332 premium tags for auction/raffle. Why am I not surprised?
Anyone ever seen any griz in unit 20 by Alpine? I will be hunting solo in early October. Never hunted that far north. Closest was deer region G. I prefer to backpack in 3/4 days, but not sure if I should do so solo.
Also does anyone know any guides up there that might pack a bull out? Thanks.
Anybody here got a realistic shot at a Strip or Kaibab late hunt this year?
My buddy and I have 1 point under max and after analyzing the rediculous complex draw system there I figure we have about a 20% chance to draw Kaibab. Put 13A for first choice but we know that ain't gonna happen.
If...
Dang I think I just missed at NR #33.

Well we all take another step closer to King's Hunting Rules with the passage of New Mexico SB 196 today.
Take out the WMA's & cow tags and DIY NR's get a whopping 5% of the tags. What a bizarre scam they will have now with unprecedented rules like: Outfitters get double the tags as NR...
Anyone know why the success rate on moose in unit 23 dropped to 43% last year? Just curious. I had been applying for it the last few years but switched this year partially as a result of that.
