Just a rough going over.
All deer tags are draw only and for the general season they work on a preference poiin-between. Rifle hunts usually require 2+ points. LE deer tags are draws but work on a hybrid bonus point system. You can draw a tag with 0 points or max points and everywhere...
That's because they only accepted educated wolves that know where the states border are.
You can see that they know where they are at by not crossing into Wyoming but only running east west along the border
Hunting bison in Utah is a pipe dream of mine.
I applied for years while I was a resident and it was a random draw, then I couldn't afford to foot the full price of the tag along with putting in for elk so I got behind when they started the point system. Now I am getting up there in age...
Every now and then I'll go out with some friends to shoot our bows just to see if I remember how. I find that my 28 year old Browning still shoots like it should.
I can't imagine buying a new bow every couple of years just to have the newest and latest technology. Sometimes I wonder how we...
Haven't seen it posted yet so I thought that I would throw it out here for lucky applicants.
I put in for Utah's HAM's hunt for Floy Canyon. There is a single non resident tag and since I can't hit the lottery I might get lucky on this one. This hunt is iron sights only for handguns...
If the Colorado leglesature has their way this year non residents will need to think before heading here to Colorado with a firearm.
Two laws that they are pushing are requiring you to have liability insurance for your firearm, the other is your firearm will need to be locked up in the trunk of...
I've always been for applicants loosing their points when they return a tag, except for limited reasons such as medical, military, and just a few more.
Most return tags just because they are not seeing the quality of animals that they expected.
One thing that I wonder about is just how well the commission gets the word out that they are going to have a meeting and are soliciting comments. I won't say that I didn't see something but I can't remember seeing anything about it. The CP&W web site is very poorly designed for someone...
What it's coming down to is that as hunters we are our own worst enemies.
We all complain about point creep but want to keep everything as is instead of looking at ways to get hunters through the draws quicker.
That's where I'd like to see all points used for any tag that is obtained through...
The big thing is I don't care if you have a D, R, I, or whatever behind you name when it comes time to vote us hunters need to stick together.
I can understand those just getting into the hunting game wanting a random draw, I also understand those of us who have accumulated a number of points...
With a few more appointments to the Parks and Wildlife board like who just got confirmed we won't have to worry about hunting.
Of the three that were nominated only two were confirmed. John Murphy and Jessica Beaulieu were confirmed and Gary Skiba was denied.
One way that they could slow point creep would be to have the applicant loose their points if they draw a tag on any of their choices.
I think that if they went to a 50/50 point draw that it would just speed up point creep.
One thing about unit 30, it is very popular with the weekend ATV and side by side folks that live in the Grand Junction area or others that will drive to it. Most of the unit is what you might consider foothills with the higher areas on its boarder.
There are good bucks in the unit that hang...
That's one thing that I don't care about them.
I upgraded from a yearly to a Life and then to a Patron member and they keep offering me a hugely discounted upgrade to Benefactor.
All of the upgrades cost me less than 1/3 of what they normally cost.
As CC mentioned it is what you are comfortable in shooting. I have shot a few rifles that have a more exaggerated pistol grip and just don't line them. They may be alright for more control in a AR type platform.
