So, I should clarify a bit. I ended up winning a 6.5-300 WBY at an RMEF banquet. I'm now trying to decided if I sell it, or deal with the high priced ammo. I was initially looking for a smaller round (270 or similar) to go with my 7mm Rem Mag. Its a great looking gun.

Well, considering this will be an antelope and mule deer gun and I'll use it may be once a year if I can get a tag and that I would be starting from scratch reloading, I'm OK with the factory ammo for now.

I have an opportunity to get a 6.5-300 Weatherby but am concerned about the future existence of the round. What are everyone's thoughts on this round? Will Weatherby maintain this round? Will other ammo manufacturers be able to pick this up eventually?

Anyone else having issues with accessing the online tag purchase? I can log in, but when I select the "Purchase license, Tag or Permit" it spins for a bit then shoots out an error.

As a non-resident, is it possible to consistently hunt elk in Idaho? I'm trying to figure out the tag system and I am getting a little confused. I'm seeing references to general tags and limited tags and OTC but can't decipher if they exist to non-residents. Couple of questions to start...

Just on Cabela's website and see that Vortex is now supplying Cabela's branded optics. In past it was unknown who made Cabela's branded optics, but these have both logos. They look a little like the Viper series.

Looking into renting a wall tent for this fall and maybe in the future purchasing one. Has anyone rented from here before - http://www.outdoorsgeek.com/ For $284 you can get a 12'x14' Davis tent including frame (no floor) and stove. On the surface, looks like a good idea to try it out first...

I was searching through the Idaho F&G website looking for information on left over deer tags and couldn't find squat. Since getting skunked on the Wyoming draw, I am looking for other options. Are there any available? Is there a list posted some where? Thanks for the help!

I would like to select a "Blue Chip" unit as a 1st choice and Region Y as my 2nd choice in hopes of being able to hunt Region Y this year. Is Region Y a sure thing for a tag as a 2nd choice? Thanks Dave
