Wish I had the Muddy's! That was meant to be my first choice but I messed up. I realized I messed up at the NBU dinner then thought oh well doesn't matter anyway I won't draw. I'm not going to complain though, drew a sheep tag at 18! I would've taken the worst hunt in the state with 4 points

Also what do you mean mini heads?

Mini heads are super tricky to score/judge. They are normal LOOKING sheep. Until they stand next to a regular sized ram. By themselves they look full size and would score great. Next to another (normal sized) ram they look like a mini sheep. Same exact features as a normal rams. But mini. You get all excited and shoot what you think to be a 170"+ ram. Only to find out that it was a mini head and scores 150.

Thanks and good luck to you. I'll be doing some scouting trips as I've never been in there.
Its a good unit and lots of terrain. Some big bucks in there also, watch the thunderstorms in archery. Every year that I have been up there with my bow they get pounded. Sometimes almost every afternoon they get showers.

Mt. Jefferson, Unit 161 at around 10K feet of elevation, it had thick hair like a bighorn.
I've been up there. On South Summit. Those Deserts are up there near 12k. They need some thick hair it gets chilly! That's a desert sheep hunt in bighorn country

Ya thunderstorms in 16 around August September can come out every after noon big time and if your tent is not tied down good it might be gone when you get back.

Thanks for that as it was one of the questions I had. Sounds like I'm taking the tent and not just a tarp. I plan on walking into Table Mountain. I figure that I'll do at least a couple fishing/scouting trips first.
