Sawfish, you are absolutely right on this. It's not a knock on law enforcement as much as it is a driving point for a strong second amendment.
As a retired Cop, I always told folks that we would respond as soon as we could get there, but you can't be everywhere at the same time. People have to be responsible for their own safety. The police will take over as soon as they possibly can...and generally do a good job of it.
One point is that the police aren't immune from the dangers either. We had two good troopers shot last Friday while trying to arrest a guy on an assault charge. The guys 19 year old son came out of a bedroom with a rifle and shot the troopers in the back before they could draw their weapons. They leave five children fatherless. Their backup was hours away by airplane.
I was not knocking the cops, just stating a fact of life. I am sorry about your brother officers. My BIL bought me a nice wood outdoor sign depicting a big pistol that reads "We don't dial 911". I hung it by the front door. During the recent rash of earthquakes, someone was pounding on the door after a particularly hard jolt, but stayed away from the door viewer, and would not respond when I said "who is it". I turned on the light above the sign, and whoever it was vanished. I guess he did not want to see the real version.

FYI, to anyone calling law enforcement, police, etc. in an emergency. If at all possible, DO NOT USE YOUR CELL PHONE! The 911 operator cannot key your cell phone number to a physical address, and it will cause a significant delay in response time.

I was spinning circles for the first 30 seconds. I heard the banging and thought my wife had fallen down the stairs. Our 2 year old daughter usually wakes up about 3 am and we grab her out of her bed and put her in ours until the alarms go off. I ran to the stairs and there was no one there. I looked back and wife and kid are in bed scared out of there mind. And then he started kicking the piss out of the solid oak front door. I grabbed the gun, slammed one in the chamber, took the safety off and said "if you make it thru the door your as good as dead (the word cox¥£€cker was used a few times..) took about 5 minutes for cops to arrive and arrest him. That was a loong 5 minutes!!
Glad it turned out ok. Would get about the same response around here!

Seems D was their issue. That's just a tough matchup for OKC bc of the depth & size...but hard to beat a team shooting that high of a % and draining 3s.
