Ive never spent more time than necessary on the antelope areas I've hunted. 22,11,13. I typically put in my due diligence before my hunt and then after my tag is filled my head is off in deer land. I know the rut is typically pretty strong during rifle antelope season in most parts of NV. I don't imagine a few weeks time would hurt the action during a season. Wish I could help ya out MM but im not located close enough to any antelope herds to really study them. My scouting consists of weekend banzai trips and even then the animals move so much in a week or two time I rarely see the same bucks.

Any of you NV guys have any opinion on the late end of sept antelope hunt in 41,42? Im mostly wondering why they have it a few weeks later then other units. Seems like a better time to hunt from my experience in WY and would be cooler then the aug/sept seasons but I dont know much about NV antelope. Thanks!
Is it 041 042, because if so, there are some really big pronghorn in there.

Most of the bucks I see in archery are rutting and the rifle they are pretty much in the full rut mode. I didn't know they moved that season back........

Yes it is 041, 042. NV antelope seasons are all at a bad time for me but that later one is a little better. I think lastyear was the first year? MRS shows it lastyear as 8/29-9/5 but in the NV regs it is 9/25-10/4. I really want to get there a week early and make the most of it when I draw an NV antelope tag and the later season is the only one I could forsure do that on.

Just pulled my regs out for 2013. They have the early and late hunt.

It was 8/22 - 8/28early, then the September October hunt as late. I have never chased any lopers around during that time of year. Just been out in the rifle and archery hunts and its a pretty good hunt. 041&042 are definitely pumping out some big bucks lately.

Have you been looking at this unit because of the dates??

Ya that late hunt was added last year, I put in for it but didn't draw. Interesting hunt because of the month gap between early and late season. I am out in that area a lot chasin chukar and it is an amazing lope area all around. I plan on putting in for that late hunt again this year for sure. The late hunt would be nice because you could come in from the Gerlach side and not have to worry about the burners.

Lol, that's one thing about antelope hunting, you get to see all the burners going out there and then coming back.

Ya and even in that area you get burners running the Jungo road and up through 7 Troughs trying to find the shortcut to Gerlach. I've heard stories from guys in that area lope hunting having to help those s#!theads pull their beat up old motorhome out of the sagebrush off the road.

Lol, some of them aren't the brightest going out there.
