No more paper applications and everything must be done online! That should speed up the draw by a few days I would think.

I'm not a betting man, but over the last few years as the number of online applications have increased the draws have been held a little quicker along with the release of the results.

Anybody notice the complete dissolve of Unit 121... Right northwest of cody, is no longer a unit! This being a unit that has been listed as a top prospect by Eastmans in years past. I hunted it personally two years ago and was looking forward to hunting it again in the future. Interesting to see how they split that hunt up into these two newer areas that comprise it now.. I dont remember seeing areas completely disappear before.
That whole NW corner has been reorganized into three new units. It may be a good year to draw one of those units due to the MRS confusion. The problem being there is no history as to how many tag will be issued.

That will definitely be an excellent time to draw one of those new areas. They have done that before when they dropped two existing deer units and one elk unit on the west side of the BigHorns a couple years ago and enlarged the areas around them to include the old numbers, so it does happen.

I wonder if they will keep a November rifle hunt in any of those new areas like 121 had...Worked great for me because of my guiding, we dont pull camp out of the wilderness till beginning of November so those late hunts are what i look for if i put in for something...will be interesting to see once they publish official dates and everything

There is a downside to this....I have a couple of friends who absolutely won't have or use debit or credit cards. If you can't mail it in with $$$, you are probably scewed.
Doubt if it speeds anything up either, they want you money as long as possible...more interest for them.

Looks like those friends better get a CC ro they will end up asking you to pay their fees on your card! They can also have the draws quicker and post the results online while still delaying sending people their refunds.

Did they change the draw date. Non-resident elk tags were drawn in february and they were posted by the end of the month.

***I screwed up in that other post, as we are talking about changes in elk units and for some reason I had my mind on deer. The elk draw is done in February and the results are posted before the end of the month, so you cannot look at the Final Regulations for elk, just for deer and antelope because that draw isn't held until June. Sorry I made that booboo!
