I was just reading this article about the Optima V2, and I found it really interesting. I'm in the market for a new gun, so I'm curious what your thoughts are about this gun. Any feedback is much appreciated, as well as what scope options you prefer, and bullets that work well with this gun. I've been shopping on www.muzzle-loaders.com, and I really like that site. The optima is a great rifle, but the Accura V2 certainly has a much better feel when you pick it up, especially the thumbhole version. Had 2 accura v2's " still have one" and the trigger breaks at 2lbs with no grit or creep. The v2's trigger is adjustable as well. The rubber coating on the stock as well as the rubber grip panels feels extremely good in wet weather.
If you want a rifle with some great additions like above, the V2 is the way to go. The Optima is no slouch either but does not have to adjustable trigger, no rubber grip panels.
Accuracy wise, its a tie. The V2 MIGHT have a slight end at 200yards due to the multihoning process the Bergara barrel gets " Optima is non bergara marked as they skip the multihoning process to keep costs down".

I just bought a T/C Omega Pro Hunter and it shoots great. My only complaint is the trigger. Anyone done any trigger work on them? Don't see anywhere that its adjustable, so looks like it needs to be smoothed up a bit.

I just recently purchased the Accura V2 and I have only great things to say about it. I got it from Budsgunshop in the camo pattern one with one piece scope base and rings was $400 shipped to my door. The muzzy is light and feels great with the nice rubber coating. I took it out and shot about 40 rds through it. The thing is really easy to load with power belts and clean up was easy. The breech plug came right out with my fingers even after 20 shots. My cousin has the Accura and I thought it was nice. The V2 has a new butt pad and I don't know what I would change about it.

I really like the adjustable trigger option with the V2. I don't plan on shooting more than 200 yards where I hunt, so I guess the accuracy won't matter. I like the thumbhole option, as I've never own one, but like the way they feel.

I will "third" the CVA Accura. I've owned a dozen muzzleloaders over the years, and you'd be hard pressed to find one better for the money off the shelf.
