My elk hunting partner signed in the wrong spot on his permit and it invalidated it. He had to call and game and fish and they reissued the permit. Can't remember if it cost him $ or not. We were both sweating bullets because he did this like a week and a half prior to us leaving on our trip. He got the new permit 2 days prior to our departure. Each hunter needs one Conservation Stamp that must be carried in the field with your appropriate licenses for what you're hunting. Go into your account on the G&F website and you can buy it online and print it out right at home. I just downsize mine on my printer so it's big enough to be readable, instead of an 8"x11" paper, and it also must be signed before going afield just like the main part of your hunting license. DO NOT sign the kill tag until you down an animal and then do that and notch out the correct information on the edges for the date, etc.
Do you know if this applies to non residents as well? You can also pick one up at any retailer that sell licenses, eg. Walmart, sporting goods stores.
***Just go directly into your personal account like you are going to apply for a license. After you hit the submit button to go through a couple pages with your information you'll get to the page where you can buy the stamp and a number of other things. The top half for license applications for the various animals will be greyed out and the lower half, including Conservation Stamp, will be blackened and useable. When I access the link "Purchase your Conservation Stamp" I login with my ID and there is no link. Everythign is all greyed out. Is there a way to tell if I already purchased one? I may have done so when we applied for the draw waaaaay back.
