Sorry i meant 150,151,280,316
Oh I see. Early rifle hunt. There are quality deer in all of those districts. Lots of outfitter traffic.

It is tough to just give out info without getting to know somebody first. Welcome to the forum, and join the conversation.

Well i live in Utah for now. Owner of three Assisted Living Businesses. grew up in California Bought a nice lot below Forth Peck in Montana in Hd410 about three years ago hunted the 410 for 2 years with success but nothing big enough to brag about. Just build a solid oak cabin last year me and my uncle IMG_0771.jpgIMG_0854.jpgIMG_0970.jpg love to explore Montana as far as hunting this is why i joined this forum heard a lot of good things about it .So here i am researching for my next hunt away from the crowd and the road hunters hopefully getting my first trophy.IMG_0771.jpg

Nice cabin!

I wouldn't discount hunting a little closer to your cabin. There is legitimate backcountry near there, and some great deer have come out of that area as well. I hunt out that way myself often.

Deer densities are much higher there compared to the districts you enquired about.

On the early seasons, you have a chance at finding an older deer, which is nice, but you will likely see more elk hunters than bucks. Don't get me wrong, the backcountry hunts are fun, and you get to do it in the most breathtaking country in MT. Just know those hunts take extra patience.

Which district would you recommend in my are? Tx
All of the districts around there are similar as far as trophy quality and deer numbers. So it isn't so much about which district, but where in those districts. Mature bucks tend to hide out in the badlands country and/or private land sections until the rut.

So the standard advice applies. Look for hard-to-get-to areas and private/public border areas during your scouting. When the rut hits hard, find the does.
